Management Team

Vivienne Hsu, CFA

FOUNDER & CEO

Prior to becoming a full-time social entrepreneur, Vivienne was Senior Vice President at U.S. Trust, where she advised clients on complex financial matters. She served as a Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager for Charles Schwab Investment Management, where she oversaw its active equity strategies and was the lead portfolio manager for the Schwab Hedged Equity Fund. Under her leadership, the firm launched three new funds which garnered a total of $500 million at launch. Prior to that, she was Vice President and Portfolio Manager at American Century Investments, where she co-managed mutual funds that totaled more than $10 billion. Vivienne has also served as an investment risk consultant at MSCI Barra and performed pension actuarial work on retirement plans.

 

She is on the boards of the Los Altos Community Foundation, How Women Lead, and Aeris Insights. In 2011-12, Vivienne volunteered full time as development director at the Women’s Initiative for Self Employment, fundraising and cultivating corporate relationships. She has also been an active member of her church since 1987 and has led 3 successful capital campaigns ($5m+ total), along with holding many other volunteer positions.

 

She received her MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, where she also received an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics. She is a CFA® charterholder.

Lynette Pang, CFA

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Lynette joins LENDonate after a distinguished career in investment management. She was a member of the disciplined equity team at American Century Investments for 20 years and served as a portfolio manager for over a decade. In addition to her portfolio management responsibilities, Lynette served as the liaison between the Investment team and IT developers and led business continuity and internal audit efforts. Prior experience includes performance reporting and analytics and client support at MSCI Barra and State Street Bank.

 

Lynette’s commitment to the community includes volunteer work such as tax return preparer for low-income households, support line phone counselor, theatre-maker at community theaters, and training coordinator for classroom music education program. Her non-profit experience also includes having served as a board member for Stage 1 Theatre (3 years) and Music For Minors II (7 years).

 

Lynette graduated from the University of California, Davis with a BS in Agricultural and Managerial Economics and a minor in statistics. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) charterholder.

Gwendolyn J. Wong

CHIEF Credit Officer

Gwendolyn Wong is an accomplished C-Suite and senior executive with credit oversight and administrative responsibilities at numerous financial institutions, including Crocker National Bank/Wells Fargo Bank, California Bank & Trust, First Republic Bank, Silicon Valley Bank, Meriwest Credit Union, and Beacon Business Bank. Her foreign bank experience includes Algemene Bank Nederland and The Industrial Bank of Japan, LTD. She is an expert in assessing credit quality, loan portfolio management, and developing risk management strategies. Her broad credit and lending expertise span commercial & industrial lending for middle market companies, small businesses, and corporate syndications; private banking clientele, commercial real estate and construction lending, SBA/CA Guaranty lending, asset-based lending, and consumer lending. She was the Excellence in Finance Leaders award recipient at FiNext Conference 2019, a think tank of leaders creating solutions to bridge the gaps of technology innovation and financial services.  

 

Active in the community and the nonprofit sectors, Gwen has demonstrated leadership skills in international, national, regional, and local board and executive level positions with particular emphasis on financial oversight and management, vision, and strategic planning, change and transition management.  Gwen is a natural leader who is well-versed with board governance, forming vision and innovation, with the ability to guide successful implementation of strategic priorities. She seeks diversity and inclusion of all voices which sets in motion limitless approaches to future success. Gwen has served in Board and Executive leadership positions for nonprofits in local, regional, national, and international sectors. She has served as National Treasurer for Girl Scouts USA, Treasurer and Finance Chair for the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., The Junior League of San Francisco, and The United Way of the Bay Area. She has been served as National Director with the American Association of University Women and The Legal Advocacy Fund. Locally, she has served on the Boards of Financial Women of San Francisco, Professional Business Women of California, How Women Lead, and University of San Francisco Women in Leadership & Philanthropy, to name a few. 

 

LENDonate is where Gwen combines her credit and risk analysis expertise with her philanthropic passion for making a difference in the community. 

 

She received her MBA from the University of San Francisco, and her master’s degree in mathematics from Columbia University. She also received an undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Hawaii.  

Sarah Weller

product Manager

Sarah’s career began in technology consulting at CGI, where she built trusting relationships with clients such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Australia New Zealand Bank (ANZ) and Comerica Bank while delivering exceptional customer support and training. Her experience ranges from compiling business and systems requirements, to designing and creating products, to implementing global software solutions.

 

At the end of 2013, Sarah joined Weller Smith Design, a boutique design studio specializing in creating thoughtful design solutions that reflect the client’s vision and mission.

Advisors

Julie Castro Abrams is CEO of How Women Lead, Managing Partner of How Women Invest, and former CEO of Women’s Initiative for Self Employment. She has spent the majority of her career working to build great women owned companies and economic access for women.

 

 

Jason Altieri is CEO of Operations/Member Support, Legal and Compliance at Happy Money. Prior to that, he was the General Counsel of Metromile, Inc and Lending Club who led the company in legal/compliance strategy and development from start-up to a 1,600 person public company. Mr. Altieri received his J.D. (magna cum laude) from University of San Francisco School of Law.

Carrie Dolan is Chief Financial Officer at Tradeshift. Prior to that, she was CFO at Metromile, Inc and Lending Club. Prior to that, she served as Treasurer for The Charles Schwab Corporation, as well as CFO of Schwab Bank. Ms. Dolan holds a B.S. in finance and accounting and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Maureen Downey is a seasoned private equity executive who has managed teams at Pantheon Ventures, Goldman Sachs, and Merrill Lynch. She received her BA dual degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics/ Economics from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from Wharton’s Graduate School of Business.

 

 

Swapan Saha, Ph.D. has 20 years of product development working at premier information technology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area including SAP, Sun Microsystems, and Tibco. He has been involved in various non-profit charitable activities including founding global alumni association in the US of his Alma Mater, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology.

Wingee Sampaio is Head of Cartier Women’s Initiative and a senior executive with 15+ years of strategy and execution experience who is on a mission to create social impact through revolutionizing financial services and capital markets. She is currently Managing Director at State Street Global Advisors and is also co-author of Impact with Wings.

 

Tal Sansani is a data-scientist, quantitative researcher, and investment management consultant with 15 years of professional experience.  Tal graduated with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a B.S. in Applied Mathematics, with a Specialization in Computing. He is a CFA Charterholder.

Manju Lind is a product, messaging, and sales strategy consultant who specializes in helping early stage startups communicate to investors and clients. In her prior experience, she led a variety of product management, marketing, and client education initiatives at BlackRock and MSCI (formerly Barra). She earned simultaneous degrees in Chemistry (B.S.) and Economics (B.A.) from the University of California, Berkeley and is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) charterholder.

Victor J. Torres is a technology startup veteran with experience working at high growth tech startups in various roles ranging from customer service to software engineering. He specializes in bridging the gap between technical and business teams and in setting up infrastructure for automation or software experiments.

Melanie Mock is a finance executive in the tech sector where she spent 35 years raising and restructuring capital to enable companies to survive and thrive during tech market booms and contractions.   She most recently was Vice President, Treasurer of Equinix, Inc. where she also co-founded The Equinix Foundation.  She received her B.S. in Public Policy from the University of Southern California and her MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
